BRISTOL, R.I. – The Nichols College baseball team dropped a pair of games at Roger Williams University Tuesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.
Game One – Hawks 5, Bison 3
Freshman
Ben Jerome recorded a pair of hits – including an RBI single in the second – and classmate
Andrew Croteau also plated a run with a single for Nichols (3-6, 1-3 CCC). Junior
Brendan Duffy and sophomore
Jack Kabel combined for eight strikeouts over six innings.
Game Two – Hawks 19, Bison 15
Croteau – who went 3-for-5 – and junior
DJ Caron each plated three runs while both graduate student
Kyle Bouchard and senior
Nathaniel Cormier recorded two hits and two RBI. Bouchard's solo home run in the fourth was his third of the season. The two teams combined for 33 hits and seven errors in a contest. Graduate student
Andrew Charbonneau got the start for the Bison and was one of five pitchers used by head coach
Tim Mayo; the staff fanned seven and was hampered by four unearned runs.
