DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College women's basketball team was defeated by the University of New England 98-71 Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Nichols Athletic Center.

Sophomore Abrianna Vazquez led the Bison (4-4, 0-1 CCC) with 17 points to go with five steals and four dimes while junior Erin Cann knocked down three triples and finished with a career-high 14 points. Freshman Hadley Houghton came off the bench and chipped in with 11 points and five steals.

Nichols was outrebounded 68-26 and finished the afternoon shooting 25 percent from the field (18-of-72). The two teams combined for 56 fouls and 66 free throw attempts; the Bison finished 26-of-41 from the charity stripe (63 percent).
