Lutz stops 39 shots in 2-1 loss at UNE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Freshman Gabe Temple scored his first collegiate goal in Nichols College's 2-1 loss at No. 14 University of New England Saturday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Harold Alfond Forum.

Temple's goal came on a short 5-on-3 advantage in the third and was assisted by sophomore Philip Bjorkman and senior captain Curtis Carlson.. Junior Korbinian Lutz turned aside 39 shots as the Bison (1-2-1, 0-2-0 CCC) were outshot 41-19 on the night.

The Nor'easters (2-0-0, 2-0-0 CCC) struck for two goals in a span of 3:24 late in the second period to grab a 2-0 lead.
