DUDLEY, Mass. – Graduate student
Matt Alectus and junior
Jakigh Dottin each scored 17 points as the Nichols College men's basketball team remained unbeaten with a 90-86 win over Hamilton College Tuesday night in non-conference men's basketball action at the Nichols Athletic Center.
Freshman
Tahmeen Dupree added 16 points as the Bison moved to 5-0 for the third-straight season. Nichols held a slim 46-45 edge on the glass and were led by graduate student
Matt Morrow with 11 boards.
Hamilton – which defeated the Bison 92-67 in the inaugural meeting between the two schools less than two years ago – shot 38 percent from the field and saw four players reach double-figures in scoring, led by Elliott Tirbaso with 17 points. The Continentals (1-3) forced 19 turnovers.
The Bison led by as many as 13 points (58-45) early in the second half following a triple from senior
Jason O'Regan. The Continentals then ripped off a 31-17 run and grabbed a 76-75 lead with 2:35 remaining before Alectus converted a layup to put the Bison back on top. Three free throws down the stretch from Dottin sealed the win.
