DUDLEY, Mass. – Sophomore
Abrianna Vazquez scored a career-high 33 points as the Nichols College women's basketball team evened its record at 2-2 with an 86-77 win over Clark (MA) University Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at the Nichols Athletic Center.
The Dedham, Mass. native went 11-of-16 from the charity stripe and also knocked down four 3-pointers to go with five steals and three dimes in 33 minutes of action. Junior
Leandra Ortiz added 20 points, six assists, and four steals while freshman
Hadley Houghton picked up a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards.
The Bison (2-2) shot 34 percent from the field and connected on 71 percent of their free throws, and won despite being outrebounded 51-40. They also converted 33 Clark turnovers into 33 points.
The 86 points was the most scored by the program since an 86-84 overtime win over Fitchburg State on November 21, 2013.
