WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior
Petr Miko scored a pair of goals to help the Nichols College men's ice hockey team to a 6-5 win over Worcester State University in the first game of the Worcester Mayer's Cup Friday evening at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center.
Miko added an assist for the Bison (1-0-0), who saw junior
Korbinian Lutz come off the bench to stop 14 of 15 shots to record his first collegiate victory. With the win, the Bison advance to the championship game on Sunday and will face Anna Maria at 6:50 p.m.

Josh Dickson and
Kaiden Scott also scored for head coach
Mike Parnell, whose team outshot the Lancers, 41-32. The goals for Newnam, Dickson, and Scott marked the first of their collegiate careers.
With the win, Nichols has now won three-straight against Worcester State (0-1-0) and 10 of its last 11.
