The Nichols College women's hockey team lost to the University of New England 2-1 in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) action Saturday evening at Levy Rink in Harrisville, Rhode Island.
The Nor'easters (15-5-2, 10-2-2 CHC) scored midway through the first period with a goal from Shannon Nadeau, an unassisted goal that she took from coast to coast after a collecting a rebound off the UNE goalie Julia Benjamin. Three minutes later UNE jumped out to a 2-0 lead with another goal from Nadeau, her second of the game and third of the season. Alyssa Roof and Meagan Accardi picked up helpers on the goal.
The Bison (6-12-3, 5-6-1 CHC) and the Nor'easters played the entire second period with no scoring changes. Nichols broke into the scoring column with a third period power-play goal from freshman 
Jessica Gossas-Moberg, her second of the season. The Bison and Nor'easters battled for the final seven minutes, before UNE took the conference win.
