Bison defeat Bloodhounds

Recap
The Nichols College men's volleyball team split a pair of matches at John Jay College on Saturday afternoon, defeating the host Bloodhounds in four sets after falling in four to Misericordia University in non-conference action Saturday afternoon in New York, N.Y.
 
Sophomores Ray Wang and Lance Law each collected 16 kills against Misericordia (8-4), which rallied back after dropping the first set (25-20) to win sets two (26-24), three (25-23), and four (25-18). Law added 10 digs and three aces while Wang also picked up 11 digs. Sophomore Sean Jackson threw up an outstanding .875 hitting percentage and finished with eight kills, senior Kevin Keohane handed out 27 assists to go with two kills and two service aces, and senior Oscar Chavez had 13 digs and two assists.
 
Against the Bloodhounds, Wang led all student-athletes with 21 kills while picking up 10 digs. Law filled the stat sheet with 13 kills, 1o digs, three service aces, and two blocks while Jackson tallied three kills. Nichols (5-4) dropped set one 25-17 before winning sets two (25-21), three (26-24), and four (25-22).

Three things you need to know...
            -Today's matches marked the inaugural meeting between both Nichols College and John Jay College, and Nichols College and Misericordia University.
            -Wang averaged 16.3 kills/match this past week and is up to third in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) in kills/set (3.67). Law is a close sixth at 2.85 kills/set.
            -Chavez is leading the conference in digs at 2.70/set.
