Mel McAleer notched her team leading 11
th goal of the season as the Nichols College women's hockey team lost to the University of New England 3-1 in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) action Friday evening in Biddeford, Maine.
The Nor'easters (14-5-2, 9-2-2 CHC) got on the board first with a first period goal from Elizabeth Walsh 4:19 into the game. McKenna Remillard and Bella Crugnale picked up helpers on the goal that gave UNE the 1-0 early lead. UNE scored again in the second period with an unassisted goal from Jessie Scott, the eventual game winner, that gave them the 2-0 lead.
McAleer broke open the scoring for the Bison (6-11-3, 5-5-1 CHC) with a power-play goal in the second period, after a hooking from Remillard at the 16:57 mark. Senior

McKenna Gernander picked up assists on the lone Bison goal. The Nor'easters added an insurance goal in the third period, as they went on to pick up their ninth CHC win of the season.

-With her power-play goal tonight, McAleer is now tied with Grace Murphy '15 for the most power-play goals in a career with 14.
-Tonight's game marked the ninth all-time meeting between the two programs.
