Gina Parmenter scored a game-high 18 points and snagged seven rebounds as the Nichols College women's basketball team lost to Worcester State University 75-60 in non-conference action at the Nichols Athletic Center in Dudley, Massachusetts.
Parmenter led the way for Nichols (5-15) shooting 5-of-17 from the field, including 2-of-6 from the distance. Junior
Isabella Nerney was second on the team with 13 points to go along with her three rebounds and two steals. Three other Bison chipped in on the defensive side by picking up multiple steals; Parmenter (2),
Leandra Ortiz (2), and
Melody Millett (2).
The Lancers (13-6) were led by Charlotte MacMillan who poured in 16 points on an efficient 6-of-11 shooting, including four from three point land. Sarah Blomgren dropped in 15 points WSU, while also picking up eight rebounds and dishing out 2 assists. Worcester State also saw Colleen Cutting score in double figures with 10 points to go along with her team-high four assists in the non-conference win.
Three things you need to know…
-Parmenter's 18-points was a season high for her. Her previous high was 17 against Salve Regina.
-The Lancers outscored the Bison in the paint 34-30 in the game.
-Today's game marked the 21st all-time meeting between the two programs.
