The Nichols College women's hockey team lost to Salve Regina 2-1 in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) action Saturday night at June Rockwell Levy Rink in Harrisville, Rhode Island.
The Seahawks got on the board first in the first period when Suzi Pearson scored for Salve at the 7:08 mark, with assists from Maddie Cox, and Amanda Fantasia. The Seahawks and Bison stayed at 1-0 until Salve added another goal in the second period with a goal from Fantasia at the 12:21 mark to give them the 2-0 lead.
Nichols cut into the lead five minutes later with a goal from sophomore
Alicia Hunks. The Seahawks held onto the 2-1 lead for the rest of the game as they were able to hang on and spoil the Bison's Senior Day with the 2-1 victory. Seahawks goalie Sophie Beauchesne turned aside 33 shots in the win.
