Bison rally from 0-2 hole to stun Lasell

Recap
Sophomore Lance Law threw down a match-high 16 kills as the Nichols College men's volleyball team rallied from a 0-2 deficit to stun Lasell University 3-2 in non-conference action Wednesday night at the Nichols Athletic Center.
 
Law also notched 15 digs for the Bison (7-4) while classmate Ray Wang added 13 kills, five digs and three blocks. Sophomore Sean Jackson was clutch all night, posting a .667 hitting pct. as he registered seven kills and a team-leading four blocks.
 
The Bison dropped the first two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-20, respectively. Lasell (8-8) posted a .242 hitting percentage during that span and were led by freshman Garrett Linnell with four kills (.500 hitting pct.). Wang led NC with four kills (.375 hitting pct.).
 
Law caught fire in the third set, firing six kills (.400 hitting pct.) as the Bison (7-4) squeaked out a 25-23 win. The Taunton, Mass. native added four more kills in a 25-20 win in the fourth set while Jackson picked up four of his own.
 
In the fifth and decisive set, Jackson picked up a pair of kills and both senior Kevin Keohane and freshman Matthew Zawistowski racked up a service ace in a 15-12 win.
 
Linnett led all Lasell student-athletes with 11 kills. Freshman Jan Baranowski tallied 10 blocks (two solo).
 
Three things you need to know...
            -Tonight's match marked the inaugural meeting between Nichols College and Lasell University.
            -Nichols College played its first-ever five set match tonight. Subsequently, it also marked the first time the Bison have ever rallied from a 0-2 deficit to win a match.
            -The Bison established a school-record for blocks with 11.0 (three solo, 16 assist).
