No. 9 Endicott blanks Nichols

Recap
The Nichols College women's hockey team lost to nationally ranked Endicott 5-0 in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) action Saturday afternoon at Raymond J. Bourque Arena in Beverly, Massachusetts.

The Gulls saw Meghan Francis pick up three points in the game on two goals and an assist, while three other student-athletes also picked up multiple points including, Lauren Ferraiuolo, Tabitha Franceschini, and Madison Huber. The Gulls got on the board first with a first period power-play goal from Ferraiuolo at 12:15 before Francis notched her first of two goals just two minutes later to quickly give the Gulls the 2-0 lead.

Endicott went on to score two more goals in the second period, courtesy of Michaela McNamara and Jacy Kuhlman. The Bison trailed 4-0 going into the final frame where Francis notched her second of the game to give the Gulls the 5-0 advantage as they completed the four-game season sweep of the Bison.

Nichols was led by sophomore Isabella Portt who notched five shots on goal in the contest, followed by junior Jordyn McGuire (4) and sophomore Katelyn Joyal (4). Freshman netminder Julia Carroll made 40 saves in the loss.
 
Three things you need to know…
-This weekend Carroll turned aside 87 total shots across the two games against Endicott.
-The Gulls outshot the Bison 45-24 in the game.
-Today's game marked the 10th all-time meeting between the two programs and the fourth this season.
