Alexis Finnerty poured in a career-high 32 points as the Nichols College women's basketball team lost to Western New England University 75-64 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Tuesday evening at the Nichols Athletic Center in Dudley, Massachusetts.
The Bison were led by Finnerty who shot 50% from the field (11-of-22 FG), including 3-of-8 from beyond the arc. Finnerty added three steals, three assists, and two rebounds for the Bison as well. Junior
Isabella Nerney was second on the team for Nichols with 12 points (4-of-11 FG), while pilling up three boards and three assists. The Bison who were within only one point at halftime (31-30), hung in there for much of the game before the Golden Bears slightly pulled away in the fourth quarter.
WNE was led by Emily Farrell who dropped in 22 points (8-of-14 FG), to go along with two rebounds and an assist. Meghan Orbann was second on the team for WNE pouring in 11 points (4-of-10 FG), while also picking up a team-high seven boards and one steal. The Golden Bears outscored the Bison 44-34 in the second half to narrowly pull away for the conference win.
