Mel McAleer registered a goal and an assist in Nichols College's 4-2 win over Becker College Friday night in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) action Friday night at Levy Rink.
The Bison got off to a quick start with a goal from freshman
Kaci Johnson just 4:52 into the first period with a helper from junior
Jordyn McGuire, her fifth of the season. Nichols struck again at the 18:52 mark in the first period to extend the lead to 2-0 after sophomore
Alicia Hunks found the back of the net off a rebound shot from McAleer. The Hawks got on the board shortly after with just nine seconds left in the period to cut the Bison's lead to 2-1 going into the first intermission. Cassidhe Wozniak potted the goal with assists from Katie Puumala and Clare Conway.
Becker tied everything at two goals apiece with a second period 4-on-4 goal from Wozniak, her second of the game after collecting a pass from Conway off a Bison turnover. McAleer scored the eventual game-winner seven minutes into the third period with an assist from junior
McKenna Gernander. Freshman
Kayla Currin notched her fifth goal of the season to extend the Bison lead to 4-2 halfway through the third period as the Bison went on to win 4-2.

-McAleer now was 40 assists in her career which is good for number one all-time in program history.

Julia Carroll turned aside 20 shots in the Bison's win.
