Isabella Nerney and freshman
Alexis Finnerty combined for 44 points as the Nichols College women's basketball team defeated Wentworth 78-62 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon in Boston, Massachusetts.
Nerney shot 7-fo-18 from the field including a game-high five three-pointers as she put in a game-high 22 points to go along with her five rebounds. Finnerty tied Nerney with 22 points in the win, to go along with her four rebounds and a team-high six assists. Classmate
Gina Parmenter was the third student-athlete for Nichols who scored in double-digits as she poured in 14 points (5-of-9 FG), while also playing a key role on the defensive side with two steals to lead the Bison.
The Leopards saw four student-athletes score in double-figures; Erin Morton (13), Isabella Perez (12), Emily Magasic (12) and Molley Duclos (10). Morton added five steals, four boards and four assists, while while Perez led the game with seven assists to go along with her six rebounds for Wentworth. Wentworth was outscored 54-29 in the second-half as Nichols completed the season sweep.
