The Nichols College women's basketball team lost to Western New England 74-46 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Wednesday night in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The Bison (3-11, 1-5 CCC) fell behind early despite freshman
Alexis Finnerty leading the team with 15-points, including nine in the third quarter. She also picked up two steals and an assist. Junior
Isabella Nerney scored in double-figures as well, pouring in 10-points (4-of-10 FG) while also snagging three boards and one assist. Freshman
Leandra Ortiz led the team with four boards, while also dropping in five points.
The Golden Bears (10-3, 5-1 CCC) were leading at the half 35-19, before ripping off a 26-point third quarter to pull away with the game. Meghan Orbann filled the stat sheet for WNE picking up a double-double with 11 rebounds and 14 points, while also dishing out two steals and blocking two shots. Emily Farrell and Courtney Carlson also scored in double-digits, both dropping in 11-points for the Golden Bears in the win.
