The Nichols College field hockey program suffered a 4-3 overtime loss to Gordon College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Friday afternoon at Vendetti Field.
 
Senior Erin Kelley, junior Lizz McKinnon, and freshman Mackenzie Doran each scored for the Bison (3-6, 0-4 CCC), who were outshot 36-27 on the afternoon. Senior Brooke Misbach turned aside 22 shots for NC while senior MacKenzie McDonald recorded a pair of assists and a key defensive save late in the contest.
 
Senior Sabrina Jandreau scored twice for the Fighting Scots (3-5, 1-2 CCC), who received three defensive saves and also saw senior Julia Altman made 13 saves to move to 3-4 on the season.
 
Three things you need to know...
            -McDonald's assist on McKinnon's tally was her first since an assist at Framingham State during her freshman year on October 18, 2016.
            -The loss snapped a three-game winning streak against the Fighting Scots, and the series now stands at 29-20-1 in favor of Gordon.
            -Junior Carlee Tolley also recorded an assist for Nichols.
