DUDLEY, Mass. - The Nichols College women's tennis team captured the Flight A, B, and C Championships Friday afternoon at the Grass Court Doubles Tournament at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I.
The Bison went an undefeated 9-0 in the tournament including winning all three flights, facing off against opponents from six different institutions; Salve Regina, Bridgewater State, Colby-Sawyer, Mount Holyoke, Holy Cross and Saint Joseph. Nichols picked up the flight A championship thanks to the duo pairing of seniors

Isabelle Leonardi who defeated the duo pairing from Holy Cross 8-6. "Wow....today was just such an awesome performance. I couldn't be prouder of this team. To win a match 9-0 is impressive, to go 9-0 against six other teams is remarkable. The team played great top to bottom." Said Nichols head coach

Megan Nathanson teamed up to take the flight B championship over Amira Eid and Juliet Henderson from Colby-Sawyer 8-0. The Bison rounded out the day with an 8-3 victory in the flight C championship, with sophomore
Kara Stankewitz and senior
Lindsey Kaplan defeating Eleanor Fulghum and Elena Olsen from Holy Cross. The Bison took the team championship by going undefeated and picking up 18 points. "Izzy and Amie were amazing beating some incredible teams. Juli and Meg were just dominant in flight B. Lindsey and Kara really seemed to find a great flow in flight C. Overall it was just amazing and I couldn't be happier for this team."
Nichols returns to action on Saturday, September 21 against Western New England at 12:00 PM.
