The Nichols College men's volleyball team closed its regular season with a 3-0 win over Southern Vermont College Saturday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action at the Nichols Athletic Center.

Freshman
Ray Wang filled the stat sheet with nine kills (.615 hitting pct.), nine service aces, and four digs as the Bison (16-9, 10-4 NECC) secured the No. 3 seed in the NECC Tournament and host a quarterfinal match this Tuesday. Classmate
Lance Law led all student-athletes with 11 kills (.400 hitting pct.) and a pair of blocks while freshman
Collin Hunter recorded five kills on five attack attempts (1.000 hitting pct.).

The Bison scored 10 of the first 14 points in the first set, which they won 25-10. Wang registered five kills while Law had four and Castro had 11 assists. In the second set – won by NC 25-9 – the Bison went up 8-0 behind six service aces from Wang. Castro's five kills in the final set lifted the Bison to a 25-11 win.

Three things you need to know...
            -Wang's career-high nine service aces vaulted him into the top spot in the conference in that category (0.66/set). He is also No. 3 in kills/set (3.49) and No. 4 in hitting pct. (.305).
            -Freshman
Luis Castro – who is No. 1 in the NECC in assists/set (8.52) – picked up 20 assists, five kills, and four digs.
            -In their final collegiate match, the Mountaineers were led by sophomore Zach Rogers with six kills while senior Isaiah Backels picked up four.
