The Nichols College softball team closed Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) regular season play with a pair of losses at Roger Williams University Sunday afternoon in Bristol, R.I.

Game One – Roger Williams 1, Nichols 0 (8 innings)
The game remained scoreless in into the eighth when freshman Alexandra Lombardo doubled home the winning run from second base. Junior
Cara Mayhew was one of four Nichols student-athletes to record a hit. Junior
Alexis Ferris surrendered four hits and one unearned run in 7.1 IP for the Bison. She walked three and struck out five.

Game Two – Roger Williams 7, Nichols 4
The Bison (16-15-1, 7-9 CCC) led 4-0 after four-and-a-half innings of play behind two RBI from junior
Taylor Commesso and one each from Mayhew and junior
Katrina Valeri. Roger Williams got one back in its half of the fifth before putting up a '6' spot in the sixth, sparked by a three-run home run off the bat of sophomore Katrina Goria. Freshman
Candice Nelson took the loss for NC, allowing three hits and seven runs (three earned) in 5.1 innings of work.

Mayhew recorded one hit in both ends of the doubleheader and has now hit safely in three-straight and 20 of Nichols' 32 games in 2019.
