The Nichols College softball team suffered a pair of losses to New England College Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action at the Nichols Softball Field.

Game One – New England College 5, Nichols 4
Freshman Daelyn Ross belted a three-run home run in the first for the Pilgrims, who carried a 5-0 lead into the seventh before the Bison rallied. Freshman
Mackenzie Bourgault lifted a sac fly to left to plate the first NC run before an RBI single from freshman
Samantha Kostek and an RBI double from sophomore
Colleen Callahan made it 5-3. After a fielding error allowed the fourth run of the inning to score, NEC recorded the third out to earn the win. Freshman
Candice Nelson allowed seven hits and five runs with two walks and five strikeouts over seven for the Bison. Â

Sophomore
Alexandria Rodi went 2-for-3 with an RBI double for the Bison (16-17-1) while senior
Jessica Kuelling plated a run with an RBI groundout. NEC (28-6) pushed across three runs in the third, two coming on a two-run home run by freshman Izzabella Phelps. Freshman
Cassidy Aiello and sophomore
Shannon Morin combined to allow 13 hits and six runs over the first five innings for the Bison before junior
Alexis Ferris closed the game with a pair of scoreless frames.
