The Nichols College men's lacrosse team defeated Roger Williams University 12-9 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Wednesday afternoon at Bayside Field in Bristol, Rhode Island.
Nichols (10-6, 4-4 CCC) were led offensively by sophomore
Brendan Coates (3-1-4) and freshman
Cian Keohane (3-0-3). Coates scored two of his three goals in the final 13 minutes of the fourth quarter, as the Bison out scored the Hawks (11-6, 5-3 CCC) 5-1 in the fourth quarter to take the 12-9 victory.
The Hawks received three points from Jude Marzec (2-1-3) and Jared Grier (2-0-2). RWU also received goals from five other student-athletes in the game. The Bison were outshot 37-34 in the win.

-This was the Bison's first win over the Hawks since 1988.
-Senior goalie
Brian McKinley turned aside 13 shots in the game.
-Nichols will play in their first CCC playoff game since 2017 on Saturday.
