The Nichols College men's lacrosse team was defeated in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) quarterfinal game against Curry College 14-13 Saturday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field in Milton, Massachusetts.
The Bison (10-7) were offensively led by senior
Casey Campanale who notched a season-high five points in the loss on two goals and three assists. Nichols junior
Cole Fontana was second on the team with four points on two goals and two assists. The CCC All-Second Team selection freshman
Hunter Ferreira led the Bison with 10 total shots. Senior goalie
Brian McKinley was credited with 14 saves in his final game as a Bison.
The Bison who were down 14-10 with after a Curry goal from Andrew DeLeary with 8:10 remaining in the fourth quarter proceeded to cut into the lead with three goals in six minutes to get within one goal at the 2:17 marker. The Colonels (9-8) would hold of the Bison for the final two minutes and change to advance to the CCC semifinal on Tuesday where they will take on the Golden Bears of Western New England.

Three things you need to know…
-McKinley finished the season with 234 saves, which is eighth all-time in Nichols history. He also finished with 710 saves in his career which is good for second most all-time at Nichols.
-Sophomore
Brendan Coates finished the season with a team-high 36 goals, which is tied for seventh most goals in a season for the Bison.
-The Bison and the Colonels both had an even 28 shots on goal in the contest.
