The Nichols College baseball team defeated Worcester State 3-0 in a non-conference game Wednesday afternoon at the Lyons Diamond in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Nichols (19-15) sent sophomore Robert Cobb to the mound in this one, he went seven strong innings, giving up no runs on six hits, while punching out two batters. The Bison's three runs came across the fourth and fifth innings, starting with an RBI double from sophomore Nathaniel Cormier (1-for-3) that drove in junior Christian Naccari, a wild pitch later on in the inning would score freshman Tyler Heenan to extend the Bison's lead to 2-0. The third run came via a sac fly off the bat of junior Kyle Bouchard (0-for-3) in the fifth inning.

The Lancers (17-14) out hit the Bison seven to five but were unable to cross the plate, as they were shutout. Junior Brodie Altiere picked up his fifth save of the season in the win.
