Kirsten Sullivan potted seven goals in Nichols College's 21-17 loss to Emmanuel (MA) College Monday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Vendetti Field.

Miranda Smith added five goals and an assist for the Bison (2-12), who also received three goals, four ground balls, and three draw controls from sophomore
Lizz McKinnon. Nichols was outshot 50-26 and saw junior
Emily Eagan record 22 saves.

Junior Kylie Rice and sophomore Jessica Borduas each scored five times for the Saints while sophomore Emily Saef dished out a team-high four assists. They held a 36-22 edge in ground balls and forced 22 turnovers.

Nichols trailed early by a score of 6-1 before reeling off six of the next seven goals – three from both Smith and Sullivan – to take a 7-6 lead. The Saints (6-6) closed the half on a 6-1 run and led 12-8 at halftime.

The Bison scored the first three goals of the second half – including two by Sullivan – and outscored Emmanuel 9-8 over the next 30 minutes, however they were unable to get closer than two goals (13-11 with 26:13 to go). The Saints lead never dipped below four following Borduas' 25th tally of the season at 23:31.

Three things you need to know...
            -Sullivan moved past former teammate Brooke Marion '17 and into fifth place on the all-time goals list at Nichols with 123. Next up is another former teammate, Alexa Bufis '17, with 127.
            -Sullivan's seven goals tied her career-high, which she established last season against Northwestern-St. Paul (March 12, 2018).
            -Freshman Chandra Franca (Emmanuel) led all student-athletes with 10 draw controls.
