Bison down Bantams under the lights

Recap
The Nichols College baseball team defeated Trinity (Conn.) 6-4 in a non-conference matchup at DiBenedetto Stadium in Hartford, Connecticut.

The Bison (17-12) got off to a quick start on the Bantams (19-5) in the first inning, plating three runs thanks to an RBI single from junior Christian Naccari (2-for-4), and error on Trinity and freshman David Caron driving in a run from third base on a groundout to second. Sophomore hurler Justin Hurley got the nod in tonight's matchup and went 7.2 innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on nine hits while striking out five batters.

Nichols extended there lead in the second inning thanks to a sac fly from senior Joe Assenza (2-for-4). Trinity got on the board in the fifth inning thanks to a two-run homer from right fielder Matt Koperni. The Bison added two more runs across the seventh and eighth innings before junior Brodie Altiere took over on the mound for Hurley and picked up his fourth save of the season after going 1.1 innings and blanking the Bantams.
