Recap
The Nichols College softball team has won eight of its last nine games following a split of its Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) doubleheader at Salve Regina Sunday afternoon at Toppa Field.

Game One – Salve Regina 1, Nichols 0
Junior Alexis Ferris scattered five hits and surrendered one unearned run over six innings for the Bison. Senior Callie Andrews, junior Taylor Commesso, and freshman Samantha Kostek each had one hit for NC. The Seahawks scored the only run of the contest on a throwing error in the fifth.

Game Two – Nichols 10, Salve Regina 4
Sophomore Colleen Callahan laced three doubles, drove in a pair, and scored twice as the Bison (16-9-1, 7-3 CCC) pounded out 13 hits. Freshman Samantha Kostek went 3-for-5 and also drove in two runs while senior Jessica Kuelling picked up three hits and an RBI. Run-scoring hits from Kuelling and Callahan sparked a four-run first inning for Nichols. In the fourth, the Bison tacked on three more behind a two-run double from Kostek and an RBI double from Callahan.
