The Nichols College baseball team fell to Western New England University 6-0 Friday afternoon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup on Nichols Baseball Field in Dudley, Massachusetts.

The Bison (14-12, 3-5 CCC) were led by two hit efforts from juniors
Kyle Bouchard (2-for-4) and
Christian Naccari (2-for-4). Freshmen
David Caron and
Kyle Desjardins as well as graduate student
Chris Anderson each had a hit on the day.

WNE (15-8, 7-1 CCC) got on the board first thanks to an RBI double in the fourth inning. They extended their lead in the seventh inning after capitalizing on two errors from the Bison. The win was sealed in the late innings with solo shots in the eighth and ninth.

Freshman
Brendan Duffy started the game for Nichols and was on the hook for the loss following a 6.1 inning performance where he gave up four runs (one earned) on five hits, three walks, and one hit batter, while striking out four. WNE sophomore Kevin Hummer earned the win following a complete game shutout where he gave up seven hits and one walk, while racking up four strikeouts.
