Lizz McKinnon each scored four goals for the Nichols College women's lacrosse team, which opened the 2019 campaign with a 20-5 win over Dean College in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at Vendetti Field.

Kirsten Sullivan and junior
Danielle Kozloski both struck for three goals as the Bison (1-0) outshot the Bulldogs 32-23 and collected 20 ground balls, compared to nine for the visitors.

The Bison led 11-3 after 30 minutes of play as Kozloski and Smith both found the back of the net twice in the opening stanza. Nichols then ripped off seven consecutive goals to open the second – including two from both Smith and Sullivan – to open up an 18-3 lead.

Sabrina Dembro combined to record nine saves for Nichols. McKinnon led the squad with four ground balls.

Three things you need to know...
            -Today's contest marked the inaugural meeting between Nichols College and Dean College. The Bison now lead the series, 1-0.
            -Today's win marked the sixth-straight season Nichols has won its season-opener.
            -The 20 goals scored by the Bison was the fourth-most in program history. Most recently, they potted 20 goals in the season finale against Wentworth in 2016.
