The Nichols College men lacrosse team defeated Gordon College 13-2 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Wednesday night at Vendetti Field in Dudley, Massachusetts.
The Bison (5-2, 1-0 CCC) were led by junior
Cole Fontana and freshman
Hunter Ferreira who each notched four goals apiece to lead the Bison, Ferreira also added three assists to give him a game-high seven points. Five other student-athletes tallied goals for the Bison;
Jeffrey Wenzel,
Scott Ehrenberg,
Brett Shiffer,
Cian Keohane, and
Jack Campanale.
Senior
Brian McKinley turned aside 11 shots and allowed a season-low two goals in the victory.
The Fighting Scots (3-4, 0-2 CCC) received their only two goals from Nick Tozier in
the second quarter, followed by Jacob Hryzan in the fourth quarter. Goalkeeper Jay Gallipo recorded a game-high 12 saves in the losing effort.

Three things you need to know…
-Ferreira's seven points is a season-high for him.
-McKinley lowered his goals-against average (GAA) to 8.31 in tonight's win, good for second in the CCC.
-Tonight's game marked the 24th all-time meeting between the two programs, the Bison have now won three straight.
