Senior Kirsten Sullivan and junior Miranda Smith each scored three times in Nichols College's 18-7 loss at Ave Maria University Monday evening in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Gyrene Field.
 
Junior Danielle Kozloski and sophomore Lizz McKinnon also scored for the Bison (2-2), who were outshot 46-22.  Sophomore Aiyanah Simms paced the Gyrenes with four goals while freshman Emma Davis potted three.
 
Three things you need to know...
            -Today's contest marked the inaugural meeting between Nichols College and Ave Maria University. The Gyrenes now lead the series, 1-0.
            -Kozloski led all student-athletes with eight ground balls and seven draw controls. Freshman Elizabeth Luster picked up four GB's.
        -Junior Emily Eagan recorded 15 saves in her second start of the season and also collected six ground balls.
