Nate Foster scored his third goal of the season in Nichols College's 2-1 loss to No. 13 University of New England Saturday evening in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's ice hockey action at Levy Rink.

Matthew Menta added an assist for the Bison (10-11-3, 8-6-2 CCC), who went 0-for-2 with the man advantage. Freshman netminder
Brett Epp turned aside 33 shots and fell to 6-8-1 on the season with the decision.
Freshman Liam Darcy scored the first goal for the Nor'easters (17-5-2, 11-4-1 CCC) just past the midway mark of the first period to knot the game at one. In the third, sophomore Chris Darcy took a shot from the left point that eluded Epp and proved to be the game-winner.
Three things you need to know...
-Tonight's contest marked the ninth all-time meeting between Nichols College and the University of New England. The season series stands at 1-1-1, and the all-time series is now 4-3-2 in favor of the Nor'easters.
-UNE held a 35-19 edge in shots – including 24-11 through the first 40 minutes. Chris Jones and Brendan Donohue led the visitors with four shots apiece.
-Sophomore Ben Churchfield stopped 18 shots to earn his 12th win of the season.
