The Nichols College women's ice hockey team wrapped up non-conference play with a 5-0 loss to Franklin Pierce Friday afternoon in Winchendon, Massachusetts.
Nichols (12-8-3) struggled offensively for most of the night combining for a season-low nine shots on goal in the game. Senior classmates
Mikayla Castro and
Kelly Ferreira both led the Bison with two shots a piece in the game. The Bison also only had one power-play opportunity which is tied for a season-low.
The Ravens (16-9-1) scored five times with five different players getting in on the goal scoring. Stephanie Proteau, Bridgette Prentiss and Katie Neuburger all scored goals in the second period to explode out into the the 3-0 lead going into the third period. Marissa Massaro and Delaney Guimont pitched in with goals of their own in the third period to finish off the 5-0 victory over the Bison.

Three things you need to know…
-The five goals the Bison gave up in today's game is the most given up in a single game all season.
-The one power-play opportunity was tied for the lowest amount all season for the Bison, the other coming against Endicott on January 26.
-The Bison finish their non-conference schedule with a combined record of 6-5-2.
