Nick Vermette came off the bench to record 12 kills and lead the Nichols College men's volleyball team to its first-ever New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) win, a 3-0 triumph over Dean College Sunday afternoon action at the Nichols Athletic Center.

Lance Law led all student-athletes with 15 kills to go with four service aces and three digs as the Bison (5-6, 1-1 NECC) won games one and two by identical 25-18 scores before closing out the match with a 25-11 win in game three. Nichols posted a season-high .429 hitting pct.

Luis Castro handed out 28 assists and junior
Kevin Keohane dished out 12.

Hunter paced the Bison in the opening set with five kills with Castro registering an assist on 12 of the 17 kills. Law tallied five kills of his own in the second set before racking up eight in the third set.

Three things you need to know...
            -Today's contest marked the inaugural meeting between Nichols College and Dean College. The Bison now lead the series, 1-0.
            -Freshman
Sammy Saintilus threw down his first two collegiate kills against the Bulldogs and also recorded one solo block.
            -Dean was led by freshman John Kauffman with seven kills.
