The Nichols College women's ice hockey team lost to UMass Boston 4-2 in non-conference action Tuesday night at Edward T. Barry Rink in Boston, Massachusetts.
The Bison saw sophomore
Isabella Portt score her fist goal of the season in the second period, an unassisted goal that cut the Beacons lead to 2-1 at the time. Freshman
Kayla Currin notched her third of the season with an assist from junior
Kara Santoro at the 18:23 mark in the second period to tie the game going into the second intermission.
UMass Boston came out strong in the third period with a goal from Bri Colucci just 27 seconds in to give the Beacons the 3-2 advantage over the Bison. Katie Leffler and Grace Fisher added assists on the goal as well. Colucci added an insurance goal with just under 1:30 left to play that gave UMass the 4-2 lead and ultimately secured the win.

Three things you need to know…
-Despite the loss, the Beacons and Bison both took 35 shots apiece in the game.
-Leffler notched three points for the Beacons on a goal and two assists.
-Today's game marked the 18th all-time meeting between the two programs.
