Alexis Finnerty netted a game-high 17 points in Nichols College's 71-51 loss to Coast Guard in women's basketball non-conference action Saturday afternoon in Dudley, Massachusetts.
The Bison (1-4) were led by Finnerty who scored 17 points (7-of-18) while also pulling down a team-high seven rebounds and three assists. Junior
Isabella Nerney made three shots from beyond the arc to give her 13 points in the game to go along with three boards and two steals. Junior
Shannon St. Lawrence brought down double-digit rebounds for the second time this season with 11 rebounds in the game. Nichols trailed 39-32 at the half but Coast Guard pulled away in the second half, outscoring Nichols 32-19.
The bears (4-1) had three student-athletes score in double figures; Annabella Farabaugh (15 points), Branyelle Carillo (17 points) and Jackie Ward (14 points). Carillo led the way for the Bears racking up a double-double on her 17 points and 13 rebounds to go along with one block in the contest.
