Colonels deal Bison 4-1 defeat

Sophomore Justin Perron scored his first goal of the season in Nichols College's 4-1 loss to Curry College Friday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's ice hockey action at Canton Ice House.
 
Junior Evan Nyhus and senior Hogan Davidson were credited with assists on the goal for the Bison (0-7-0, 0-5-0 CCC). Nichols went 0-for-3 with the man advantage and was outshot 32-28.
 
Michael Curran and Eetu Selanne – son of NHL Hall of Famer Teemu Selanne – each scored power-play goals for the Colonels (6-1-0, 4-1-0 CCC) while Justin Ketola turned aside 27 shots to move to 5-1-0 on the season.
 
Three things you need to know...
            -The contest marked the 80th all-time meeting between the two rivals. The Colonels are 2-0-1 in the last three with two of the contests decided in overtime.
             -Davidson appeared in the 90th game of his career, during which time he has accumulated 52 points (13-39-52).
            -Making his second start of the season, sophomore netminder Brett Epp recorded 28 saves for Nichols.
