The Nichols College men's soccer team lost to Western New England 5-0 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon at Suprenant Field in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The Golden Bears (7-2-1, 1-0-0 CCC) scored very quickly with a goal at the one-minute mark from Brendan Clafin. The game remained 1-0 until the 39th minute when Arcel Kabongo-Ngoy scored to make it 2-0 WNE going into the half. The Golden Bears outshot the Bison 14-3 in the first half.
WNE scored three more goals in the second half as they cruised to a 5-0 victory. The goals were scored by Peter Wunderlich and two from Nick Kubacki. Senior
Juan Carlos De La Cruz made 13 saves in the match, despite giving up five goals.
