Lizz McKinnon scored a pair of goals and senior
Brooke Misbach made 10 saves in Nichols College's 3-1 win over Western New England University Tuesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) field hockey action at Vendetit Field.

Erin Kelley also scored for the Bison (5-10, 2-8 CCC), who have now won two in a row and remain alive for a playoff berth in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with two games remaining. Nichols won despite being outshot 23-13.

Sophomore Ali Larochelle potted the lone goal for the Golden Bears (7-9, 3-7 CCC), who held a 12-4 edge in penalty corners – including 7-0 in the fourth quarter. Freshman Laura Dion made her second collegiate start in goal and made six saves. Â

Three things you need to know...
            -Today's contest marked the 50th all-time meeting between Nichols College and Western New England University. The Bison lead the series, 25-22-1, and snapped an 11-game losing skid to the Golden Bears with today's win.
            -Nichols head coach

Victoria Utter, were all members of the last Bison team to defeat the Golden Bears back on October 22, 2013.
            -Freshman
Mackenzie Doran collected a pair of assists and now has 22 points. Today was her third multi-point game this season and second with two assists (Roger Williams, Sept. 18).
