Bison compete in NEWITT tournament

Dudley, Mass. – The Nichols College women's tennis team competed at the 2019 NEWITT tournament this past weekend in Northampton, Massachusetts.

The Bison competed against student-athletes from Wheaton, Springfield, MIT, Gordon, Middlebury and Babson over the course of the weekend. Nichols saw seniors Amarie Settiwongse and Isabelle Leonardi compete in flight B along with sophomore Kara Stankewitz. The three student-athletes combined to pick up four wins in flight B and advanced to the consolation quarter finals.

Nichols seniors Lindsey Kaplan, Megan Nathanson, Rachel McDonald and Danielle Mandel along with junior Juliana Herrera and Stankewitz all competed in flight C. Nathanson and McDonald teamed up to make it to the flight C semifinals against Middlebury. Middlebury took the series 2-1 depsite Nathanson and McDonald taking the doubles match 8-5 over Caitlin Neal and Ruhi Kamdar.

The Bison return to action on Tuesday, October 22 when they face Gordon in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) semifinal match.
