Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Nichols snaps skid with win over Rams

Recap
Freshman Lucas Andersson scored his first collegiate goal to help the Nichols College men's ice hockey team to a 4-2 win over Suffolk University Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of the Boston Landing Collegiate Invitational at Warrior Ice Arena.

Freshman Curtis Carlson added a goal and an assist while senior captain Matthew Menta collected a pair of assists as the Bison (7-6-1) snapped a four-game winless streak. Junior David Chevrier potted his second goal in as many games and was named the Most Outstanding Player for the Bison. Jack Kelly received the same honor for the Rams (4-9-0) as he scored in each game of the Invitational.

Junior Vincent Crivello staked the Bison to an early 1-0 lead with a power play goal 6:23 into the contest. Carlson's PP marker less than two minutes later doubled the lead after 20 minutes of play.

The Rams cut their deficit in half on Kelly's sixth marker of the season 49 seconds into the second period. Andersson pushed the lead to 3-1 when he took a pass form his own end, skated through the neutral zone, and buried a shot behind Suffolk netminder Michael Levine. After the Rams got to within one at 3-2, Chevrier's wrister off a feed from Menta restored a two-goal cushion with 10 minutes to go.
