Colonels rally to down Bison in OT

The Nichols College men's ice hockey team dropped a 3-2 overtime contest to Curry College Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference men's ice hockey action at Levy Rink.

Junior Vincent Crivello and freshman Justin Perron scored 2:35 apart in the second for the Bison (10-8-2, 8-3-1 CCC), who carried a 2-0 lead into the third period before surrendering a pair of goals, including the game-tying marker with 1:13 remaining in regulation.
 
Michael Snow cut the Colonels (11-6-3, 6-4-2 CCC) to one with a power-play goal 2:58 into the third period before Billy Vizzo tied the game with the extra attacker on the ice. In overtime, Alex Ochterbeck tied banged home a pass from Mic Curran with 59 seconds left on the clock.
 
Justin Ketola turned aside 33 shots to earn his sixth win for Curry.
 
Three things you need to know...
            -Tonight's contest marked the 79th all-time meeting between Nichols College and Curry College. The Colonels lead the series, 47-29-3.
            -Senior T.J. Roche appeared in his 100th career games this afternoon. The Northport, New York native has collected 41 points (10 goals, 31 assists) during that span – including 11 this season (2-9-11).
            -Nichols freshman netminder Brett Epp stopped Snow on a penalty shot early in the overtime period. He finished with 38 saves and slipped to 6-6-0 on the season.
