Lizz McKinnon scored her second goal of the season in Nichols College's 2-1 loss to Clark (MA) University Tuesday night in non-conference field hockey action at Vendetti Field.

Erin Kelley picked up an assist on the goal as the Bison (1-1) fell despite outshooting their Worcester-area rival 17-9. Junior Julia D'Antonio notched up a goal and an assist for the Cougars (2-0).

The Bison outshot the Cougars 11-2 in the first half but trailed 1-0 entering the break behind D'Antonio's first goal of the season at 23:27. The goal came on Clark's first shot of the contest.

Nichols tied the game at 43:30 of the second when McKinnon knocked a rebound off a shot from Kelley into the net. With less than six minutes remaining in regulation, freshman Kimberlie Asseng collected a ball that ricocheted off D'Antonio and past junior
Brooke Misbach, who finished with three saves.

-Nichols held a 10-4 edge in penalty corners – including a 6-0 advantage in the first half.
-Senior Dani Michaud made seven saves to move to 2-0 on the season for the Cougars.
-The Bison took the first 10 shots of the contest before the Cougars broke the scoreless tie.
