Senior
Brooke Downey made a season-high 12 saves in Nichols College's 3-0 loss to Endicott College Friday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's soccer action at Vendetti Field.

Downey was under fire all night as the Bison were outshot 35-4 on the evening – including 22-3 in the first half. Senior Sharlotte Pernice, along with juniors Hannah Pesci and Catherine Elkas, scored for the Gulls, who moved to 3-3-4 (2-0-1 CCC) with the win.

Despite allowed three goals in the opening 45 minutes, Downey recorded several highlight-reel saves, including stops on Elkas in the 21st minute, junior Pesci in the 28th minute, and senior Mary Verneris in the 29th minute.

Junior Kayla Wentworth picked up three saves in her third win of 2018.

               -Downey's previous season-high in saves was 10, a feat she accomplished on three occasions.
               -The Bison's best scoring chance of the match came early in the first half following a corner from senior
Kaylin Goncalves, when Wentworth stopped consecutive shots from junior
Nicole Gidley and sophomore
Abby Bassett.
               -Downey's 12 saves tonight pushes her season total to 62 and her career total to 362, which is No. 2 in program history.
