The Nichols College women's volleyball team was defeated by the University of New England 3-0 Wednesday night in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener for both at the Nichols Athletic Center.

Junior
Megan Gardner paced the Bison with eight kills while freshman
Jayleen Fegan filled the stat sheet with six kills (.294 hitting pct.), 11 digs, two service aces and two assists. Nichols (4-7, 0-1 CCC) dropped game one 25-19, game two 25-11, and game three 25-12.

The Nor'easters (4-7, 1-0 CCC) posted a .391 hitting percentage for the match and were led by senior Rene Roggenbuck with 11 kills (.647 hitting pct.) and sophomore Molly Camelo with nine (.421 hitting pct.).

Three things you need to know...
               -Making her first start of the season up front, senior
Zoe Chevrette handed out 19 assists and also notched six digs.
               -Sophomore Sydney Christiansen handed out 35 assists for UNE while junior libero Katie Marsh racked up 20 digs.
               -Nichols senior
Moriah Burns posted a .571 hitting pct. with four kills and no errors.
