BEVERLY, Mass. – The Nichols College softball team lost both ends of a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) doubleheader Wednesday afternoon at the Endicott Softball Complex.
Game One – Endicott 4, Nichols 2
Senior Emily Sharpe hit a two-run home run in the first inning for the Gulls in the opener. Sophomore Michaela Hamill allowed six hits and two runs with one walk and three strikeouts in 6.2 IP for the win.
Nichols scored twice in the seventh behind RBI singles from seniors
Kendall Meehan and
Courtney Manarky, and had the tying runs on base in the seventh before junior Laura Somerville came on for the Gulls to record the final out.
Sophomore
Alexis Ferris struck out eight in six innings of work in the loss. She allowed six hits and four runs (three earned) with four walks.
Game Two – Endicott 5, Nichols 0
Sophomore Maggie Oram held the Bison (11-14-1, 4-9-1 CCC) to two hits and struck out nine in seven innings for Endicott. Offensively, junior Gina DeMilt had three hits and an RBI.

Jessica Kuelling had hits for Nichols (20-4, 8-2 CCC). In the circle, freshman
Jessica Soucie allowed eight hits and five runs (three earned) with three walks and a pair of strikeouts.
Leading 1-0 entering the fourth, Endicott scored three times to extend its lead, highlighted by an RBI single off the bat of Sharpe.

Today's games marked the 42nd and 43rd all-time meetings between Nichols College and Endicott College. The Bison now trail the series, 41-2.
