Jack Campanale each scored twice in Nichols Colleges 10-7 loss to Roger Williams University Wednesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's lacrosse action at Vendetti Field.

MacKenzie Martin chipped in with a goal and two helpers for the Bison (10-5, 2-4 CCC), who outshot the Hawks 29-28 and won 12 of 21 face-offs. Junior

Freshman Tim Mullane collected five points (2-3-5) to pace the Hawks (7-7, 3-4 CCC), who also saw junior Chris Bova notch four points (2-2-4) and freshman Gabe Reale racked up two goals and an assist. Junior netminder Weston Nolan - who stopped 10 shots in the win - and sophomore Brian Brockwell each collected seven ground balls.
Roger Williams led 5-1 after 15 minutes behind a goal and an assist from Mullane. Nichols responded with a 4-0 run - scoring twice in the second and twice in the third - to tie the game at five. Carroll and Martin struck in the second quarter before a pair of goals from
Jack Campanale less than five minutes apart in the third knotted the score.
Just 2:29 after Campanale's second marker, the Hawks scored twice in a span of 21 seconds to grab a 7-5 lead; Mullane set up both RWU tallies, then scored his 24th of the season with 1:57 to go in the third to extend the lead to 8-5.
O'Conner opened the fourth quarter with his 28th goal of the season to cut the NC deficit to two (8-6) with 13:36 remaining in regulation, however goals from Reale at 12:21 and Bova at 8:37 pushed the Roger Williams lead to 10-6. Carroll closed the scoring at 6:06.
Junior
Brian McKinley was credited with seven saves for Nichols.
