Reece O'Connor scored a career-high six goals in Nichols College's 15-11 win at Gordon College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon at the Brigham Complex.
Senior
MacKenzie Martin racked up four points on a goal and three helpers while junior
Brayden Carroll also notched four points (2-2-4) and juniors
Casey Campanale (1-2-3) and
Jack Campanale (2-1-3) each notched three points. The win moves the Bison to 8-1 on the season (1-0 CCC) – the program's best mark through nine games in school history.
Sophomore
Pat Nally won 16 of 22 face-offs and freshman
Brandon Slade caused six turnovers for the Bison, who outshot the Fighting Scots 46-31. Nick Palandjian paced Gordon with six goals.
Nichols trailed 7-6 at the break as Palandjian poured in four of his six goals for the Fighting Scots. The Bison scored the final four goals of the third quarter – including two from O'Connor – to move in front 11-8 heading to the fourth. His fifth of the game with 9:20 to go in the fourth extended the lead to 13-9, and Carroll's second of the day with 5:20 to go put the Bison up 14-11.

Today's game marked the 23rd all-time meeting between Nichols College and Gordon College. The Bison have now won two-straight but still trail the series, 4-19.
