Brendan Coates scored three goals in Nichols College's 11-8 loss to Wentworth Institute of Technology Tuesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's lacrosse action at Vendetti Field.

Sophomore Dolan McCarthy potted a game-high four goals for the Leopards (6-2, 1-1 CCC), who saw junior Peter Andersson win 18-of-23 face-offs on the night. Sophomore Kyle Donor scored three times while senior Kevin Butler notched two goals and an assist.
Nichols held a 5-4 halftime lead behind two goals from Coates and a goal and an assist from both Jack and junior
Casey Campanale. McCarthy scored twice late in the third to help Wentworth carry a 7-6 lead into the fourth, where the Leopards scored four times in a span of 3:44 to turn a 7-7 tie into an 11-7 lead. Junior Jacob Eldred and freshman Ben Coakley each registered a goal and an assist during that span.
Senior Adam Dufault started the second half between the pipes for WIT and stopped five shots to record his fourth win of the season.

Tonight's contest marked the 22nd all-time meeting between Nichols College and Wentworth. The Leopards snapped a two-game losing skid to the Bison and now lead the series, 16-6.
